Job summary

Cypressbrook Multifamily Management is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and ensure the physical integrity of our apartment community through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

Reports to the Property Manager and collaborates with leasing and on-site staff to meet safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal standards. This role requires on-call availability and strong leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in multifamily maintenance and mechanical repair with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• EPA Type II or Universal HVAC Certification required.
• Strong understanding of building systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.

Maintenance Supervisor

Cypressbrook Multifamily Management is seeking a highly skilled and organized Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team. This role is essential to ensuring the physical integrity of our apartment community through preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and strong leadership. We are committed to maintaining high standards of excellence through speed, skill, and stewardship.

Reports to: Property Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize, delegate, and complete maintenance work orders including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.
• Coordinate unit turns to ensure apartments are market-ready to meet leasing goals.
• Supervise and support the maintenance team; assist with hiring, training, and development.
• Schedule and manage preventative maintenance programs.
• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness, curb appeal, safety, and equipment functionality.
• Order and manage maintenance supplies and vendor services within budget.
• Ensure documentation of completed work is maintained for service tracking and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
• Promote and enforce workplace safety practices and compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in multifamily maintenance and mechanical repair with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• EPA Type II or Universal HVAC Certification required.
• Strong understanding of building systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor and indoor environments.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills for interacting with residents, coworkers, and vendors.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including on-call and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• EPA Type II or III or Universal license required.
• HVAC experience required
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance, mechanical repair, and supervisory experience required.
• Neat, clean and professional at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community.
• Operate vehicle and driver’s license required according to community needs.
• Successfully pass a drug test.
• Demonstrate ability to perform tasks described above without seeking outside contractor assistance.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills for communicating with residents, co-workers, and senior management.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to and foster a team approach to serving residents and maintaining a successful community.
• Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the employee handbook.
