Job summary

LaSalle Management in Monroe, LA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee staff and inmate crews in general maintenance and construction. The role runs M-F, 8:00–4:00, on-site, with pay at $25.00 per hour.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of wage-earning supervisory experience. Candidates should have strong communication, organization, and budget-tracking abilities and be comfortable with security considerations for tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procedures, methods, and standards for general maintenance and construction.
• Skill to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of budget estimates; maintains records and conducts correspondence related to work; maintains special security for all tools, equipment, chemicals, etc. which may be used as weapons.
• Assigns, supervises and evaluates work of employees and inmates; directs inmate apprenticeship training program in occupational areas; submits performance reports on employees and inmates.
• Submits performance reports on employees and inmates; maintains discipline and enforces security measures.
• Performs related duties as required

Ability to work continuously on the following machines (but not limited to) test instruments, vacuum pumps, sewer clean out machine, table saw, radial arm saw, power saws, grinders, rotary hammer, hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, assorted hand tools, laundry and food service equipment, and automobiles.

Frequent periods of walking and/or standing
