Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent for the Night Shift at our Harvest facility in Lewiston, NC. The role involves managing maintenance staff or supervising through supervisors, focusing on plant maintenance. The position typically works Monday through Friday, from 12:30 am to 7:30 am. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing maintenance work plans; assign methods and procedures.
• Recommend maintenance and operating procedures for new facilities during construction.
• Develop layout designs for new equipment/process installations and modifications.
• Prepare estimates for equipment, materials, supplies, and labor; supervise repairs of building, mechanical, and structural issues.
• Review work orders; help establish work policies, maintenance, and repair standards.
• Maintain and update preventive maintenance programs using CMMS to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Identify chronic maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions to improve machine efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with USDA regulations and quality standards, monitoring staff adherence.
• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience Requirements

• 3-5 years of related experience.
• Experience in layout, drafting, project management, ergonomic design, CAD, and USDA compliance.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

May involve moving equipment, accessing files, and working in plant environments with exposure to moisture, temperature variations (28°F to 100°F), humidity, noise (50-110 dB), and chemicals. Proper safety equipment must be worn as required.
