Job summary

Hulsing Enterprises is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to keep hotel equipment in good repair with minimal downtime at Delta Bristol in Bristol, VA. You will complete maintenance work orders promptly and follow hotel standard operating procedures to support engineering service to guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• Acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests concerns.
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS and update remarks once the task is completed.
• Interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.
• Prioritize and organize work assignments; work under pressure situations and exercise good judgment.
• Maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
• Ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
• Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms like plunging toilets and repairing hardware.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
• Regularly perform preventive maintenance duties to prevent major breakdowns.
• Be available for emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and assets.
• Read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
• Keep tools and supplies secure; lift up to 50lbs.

Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments, and fellow team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• Acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests concerns.
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.

• Perform maintenance activities in the guest room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps and HVAC.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
• Regularly perform preventive maintenance duties in lubrication of equipment, changing of filters, checking of fire extinguishers and other duties to prevent major costly breakdowns as assigned.
• To operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
• To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
• Monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety Systems, as necessary.
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
• When no work is assigned, keeps productive throughout the shift by completing work orders, completing weekly walk-through items, and any other task that needs to be completed in the hotel.
• Keep all tools and supplies secure throughout shift to prevent loss from theft.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
