PRIMARY PURPOSE: Adjust, maintain, and install all outdoor lawn sprinklers. Program and maintain sprinkler schedules using Oasis software.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certification / License: Clear and valid Driver’s License
• Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Hands on experience in sprinkler repair
  • Strong technology background as it relates to the position
  • Perform responsibilities under general supervision
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Technical knowledge/skills to perform repair and installation of irrigation systems
  • Technical knowledge to read and interpret blueprints

Work Conditions

• Environment: Frequent changes in tasks; work outside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures and all weather conditions, dust, high noise level, vibration; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Inspect, repair, and install sprinkler systems.
• Perform irrigation services and repairs as required.
• Maintain accurate records for proper completion of work orders and other maintenance records.
• Read blueprints and drawings for installation of irrigation systems to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Perform sprinkler audits and make necessary adjustments to irrigation program.
• Operate equipment according to prescribed safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
• Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Report maintenance of tools and equipment and make recommendations of needed supplies to Crew Leader.
• Assist in the security of assigned supplies and equipment.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
• Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
