PRIMARY PURPOSE: Adjust, maintain, and install all outdoor lawn sprinklers. Program and maintain sprinkler schedules using Oasis software.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certification / License: Clear and valid Driver’s License
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Hands on experience in sprinkler repair
- Strong technology background as it relates to the position
- Perform responsibilities under general supervision
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- Technical knowledge/skills to perform repair and installation of irrigation systems
- Technical knowledge to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of all aspects of turf including lawn, ornamental and athletic
- Ability to prioritize work assignments
- Minimum Experience: Must have one year of experience in irrigation, sprinkler system repair and management
Work Conditions
- Tools/Equipment Used: Small hand tools; power tools; light truck or van
- Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
- Motion: Frequent walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching;
- Lifting: Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to repair and/or move equipment and objects
- Environment: Frequent changes in tasks; work outside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures and all weather conditions, dust, high noise level, vibration; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Inspect, repair, and install sprinkler systems.
- Perform irrigation services and repairs as required.
- Maintain accurate records for proper completion of work orders and other maintenance records.
- Read blueprints and drawings for installation of irrigation systems to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Perform sprinkler audits and make necessary adjustments to irrigation program.
- Operate equipment according to prescribed safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
- Report maintenance of tools and equipment and make recommendations of needed supplies to Crew Leader.
- Assist in the security of assigned supplies and equipment.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
- Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $15.19 Per Hour
