Maintenance Specialist - Mechanical

Maintenance Specialist – Mechanical / External Job Posting

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment such as high-speed bottling lines, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and fans.
  • Ensuring machinery operates smoothly by performing preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Locating and fixing root causes of equipment issues by observing device operation.
  • Fabricating parts using machine tools like lathes, milling machines, welders, and saws.
  • Using blueprints, control system drawings, and manuals for repairs.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with all procedures and regulations.
  • Following safety, food safety, quality, 5S, and ISO standards.
  • Contributing positively to team efforts with a good work ethic.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues via phone, email, or in person.
  • Utilizing SAP or similar CMMS to manage work orders.
  • Participating in training to enhance troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed these requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in mechanical trades or engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical skills (to be tested).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar CMMS.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Union environment experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and any shift.
  • Age 21 or older.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs regularly and 60 lbs occasionally, climbing stairs, working in confined spaces, bending, working at heights, and operating lifts. Visual and hearing acuity must be acceptable or corrected. Ability to work in extreme conditions is required. Certification for lift trucks and aerial lifts is preferred. Must be able to report to work and stay for the full shift.
