Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Maintenance Specialist in Warsaw, IN. You will perform maintenance on mechanical and electrical components of manufacturing equipment, while handling upkeep of buildings and grounds. The role requires reading blueprints/CAD drawings and forklift operation.

Preferred candidates have PLC knowledge, forklift certification, and a strong safety mindset compliant with OSHA standards. The position is in a union environment with hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience reading blueprints and CAD drawings.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical equipment, electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and construction.
  • Mandatory forklift operator certification.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all mechanical and electrical components of equipment.
  • Repair and maintain auxiliary equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • Set up and operate machines to repair or fabricate parts; use cutting and welding tools.
  • Move, install, and operate equipment and forklifts.
  • Record maintenance work and interpret technical drawings.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. Job Summary


  • Will perform maintenance on all mechanical and electrical components of all manufacturing and processing equipment. and physical ,plumbing, carpentry vehicles.

  • Will repair and maintain all mechanical, electrical.

  • Will perform maintenance on all auxiliary equipment, buildings, grounds, and building.

  • Will perform work as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Will set-up and operate machines to repair or fabricate new repair parts. Will operate cutting and welding equipment.

  • Will unload, move, install equipment, and operate forklifts and company vehicles.

  • Will record maintenance work performed on equipment. Candidates must possess the ability to read, interpret, and perform work based on blueprints and/or CAD drawings.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Employees will move material as requested and be responsible for the quality of their work.

  • Employees will be responsible for the cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment, general housekeeping, and 6S activities within their work areas.

  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply processes, criteria and required procedures.

  • Responsible for performing the job in a safe and environmentally advantageous manner by following all safety, regulatory, and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all federal, state, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next managment level

  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed needed


Experience And Education


  • Requires high school education or equivalent.

  • Candidates will need to utilize and apply to job responsibilities complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas, shop mathematics, and a wide variety of precision-measuring instruments.

  • Must have a broad knowledge of mechanical equipment, electricity, plumbing, carpentry, construction, experience with PLCs and grounds keeping as acquired through a four (4)-year accredited apprenticeship or eight (8) or more years of diversified experience in industrial maintenance.

  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and apply relevant codes, including electrical codes and safety practices.

  • Required to obtain and maintain forklift operator accreditation.
