Job summary

Olin is seeking a Maintenance Specialist in Oxford, MS (2nd or 3rd shift) to perform fabrication, maintenance, and repair of piping, pumps, valves, and related equipment. You will weld, install, and align equipment, and troubleshoot production machinery to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have industrial maintenance experience and welding skills, with the ability to read schematics and work with hand and power tools. The role may require overtime and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Two years of industrial maintenance experience; Maintenance certification preferred.
  • Experience with welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, repair, replace piping, pumps, valves, cylinders, flanges and hoses using hand, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools.
  • Weld, cut, and grind equipment in plant, including confined spaces.
  • Install, set, align and level new equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment and industrial trucks; use precision equipment to measure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment in production areas.
  • General maintenance on all machines.

Job description

Title: Maintenance Specialist
Location: Oxford, M
Salary: $31.17 to $43.00 depending upon relevant experience and successful evaluations.
Schedule: 2nd or 3rd Shift

Essential Functions:
  • Perform a variety of duties associated with fabrication, repairing, replacing and repairing piping, pumps, valves, cylinders, flanges, and hoses by utilizing a variety of hand tools, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools.
  • Weld, cut, and grind equipment in all areas of the plant including in confined spaces, pits, trenches, and on top of cranes.
  • Install, set, right and level new equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment and powered industrial trucks; use precision equipment to measure; use brakes, rolls, and torches to fabricate shoots and hopper; repair belts, pulleys, and flywheels.
  • General maintenance and repair on all machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment in the production area.
Position Requirements:
  • Two (2) years of industrial maintenance experience; Maintenance certification a plus
  • Fabrication experience (i.e. welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), touch and bending) preferredIndustrial electrical maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings and sketches to make appropriate repairs, machines, and field devices as needed
  • Ability to construct electrical panels and integrate control panels preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Condition Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a physical, drug screen and background check if job offer is received and accepted.
  • Ability to pass a functional physical testing and be able to use standard safety equipment and wear all required personal protective equipment (in extreme hot/cold environments).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to attend orientation and training on 1st shift (7:30am - 3:30pm) before transitioning to primary assignment on 2nd or 3rd shift. Training could take up to 6 weeks to complete.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, including weekend hours.
  • Access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • Successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
