Title: Reclamation Pulldown Specialist

Location: Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, MO

Salary: $28.33/hour

Schedule: 4-10's Mon-Thurs 6:00am-4:30pm or 6:00pm-4:30am

Focus: The Reclamation Specialist is responsible for performing mechanical adjustments and/or repairs to automated production equipment in the reclamation/pulldown area.

Essential Job Functions
  • Sets up and operates machines, performs mechanical adjustments, and repairs production equipment.
  • Visual inspections of parts and components, including sorters, rumblers, and bullet shears.
  • Removes, installs, and adjusts jams, defective materials, vibration dials, hoppers, air flow, machine speed etc., using various hand tools for proper alignment.
  • Replace minor parts and make minor adjust to keep line running.
  • Work with maintenance for major repairs, giving recommendations based on knowledge of key machine parts, damaged cartridges, and other observations.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in machine operation.
  • Experience operating mechanical equipment or heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts; or ability to become forklift certified.
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, including but not limited to adjustments, repairs and maintenance of automated equipment; including preventative maintenance, and tooling change overs.
  • Ability to use power, non-power hand tools, and machining tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, fabrication, and/or blueprints.
  • Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calipers.
  • Familiarity with automated system management including HMI, PLC systems, or CNC equipment preferred.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overheard, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry 35-40 lbs., push up to 1,000 lbs. pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.).
  • Must have full vision, including color vision.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.
Location-Specific Requirements

This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required. This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The U.S. Government does not allow non-U.S. citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
