Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds as needed.
• Maintains facilities' lighting by replacing bulbs and fixtures.

• Performs basic repairs such as locks, walls, drains.
• Responds to FIX requests promptly.
• Reports issues to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Performs monthly Preventative Maintenance Checks.
• Tests the functionality of safety systems.
• Assists with monthly drills (Fire, Active Shooter).
• Maintains HVAC equipment for climate control.
• Collaborates with a team during renovations and expansions.
• Fosters collaborative relationships with leadership and programs.
• Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

Position Title: Maintenance Specialist

Location: Owensboro, KY 42301

Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker with electrical experience to perform essential maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep throughout our facilities. This position is responsible for a wide variety of activities, including preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, general facility repairs, and clean-up, to ensure that facilities and equipment remain functional, safe, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems and the ability to identify and address routine electrical and maintenance needs.

Essential Functions:

General Maintenance:

1. Maintains grounds as needed. (Traditional lawn care is typically provided by an outside service. However, may be required from time to time as needed.)
2. Maintains facilities' lighting by replacing bulbs and fixtures as needed or as assigned.
3. Checks control panels and electrical wiring to identify potential or existing issues.
4. Installs necessary appliances and equipment as needed.
5. Performs basic repairs as needed such as: repairing broken locks, damage to walls, clogged drains, etc.
6. Responds to FIX requests in a timely and professional manner.
7. Reports, to Maintenance Supervisor, regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
8. Preventative Maintenance Checks for assigned facilities:
9. Performs monthly checks.
10. Makes or recommends repairs as a result of the Preventative Maintenance Checks.
11. Tests the functionality of the facility's safety systems
12. Assist with performing Monthly Drills such as Fire Drills, Active Shooter Drills.
13. Maintains the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
14. Collaboration Expectations:
15. Collaborates with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions.
16. Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.
17. Other duties, as determined and assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

1. High School diploma or GED
2. License, degree, or certification in a maintenance related field
3. One (1) year of related experience
4. Valid Driver's License

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate, office or shared residential setting.
2. Working knowledge of and experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems.
3. Experience working with tools and equipment, including hand and electrical tools.
4. Ability to assist with assembling, moving and relocating furniture and equipment as assigned.
5. Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Must be professional, patient and respectful to clients, coworkers and contractors at all times.
8. General passion for and ability to provide creative problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous electrical experience in a commercial, industrial, healthcare, or residential setting.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, and troubleshooting.
• Experience performing general facility maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs.
