Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Texas is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to keep facilities safe and functional. You will perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergencies, covering electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and lighting tasks.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 3–5 years in facility maintenance, plus a valid driver’s license and basic computer skills. Devereux offers a supportive, mission‑driven environment and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergencies and follows safety policies.
• Identifies and fixes safety hazards and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Performs routine inspections and maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, lighting and general mechanical work.
• Keeps accurate maintenance records and supports fire drills, generator testing and environmental monitoring.
• Maintains facilities and equipment in safe, functional condition and responds to emergency maintenance needs.

You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. Duties include but not limited:

• Responds appropriately to emergencies and follows all safety policies and procedures.

• Identifies and corrects potential safety hazards and ensures compliance with Devereux policies and regulatory requirements.

• Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility equipment, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, lighting, and general mechanical work. Safely operates tools and equipment and keeps accurate maintenance records.

• Participates in fire drills, evacuation drills, generator testing, environmental monitoring, and other safety activities.

• Maintains facilities and equipment in safe, functional condition and responds promptly to emergency maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification or special training in a specific area of competency. Proficient computer skills. Valid driver license must be maintained
• Three to five (3-5) years in facility maintenance.
