Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilities. The role requires reading complex drawings, working with electrical and mechanical systems, and operating forklifts in a union environment.

You will set up machines, fabricate parts, weld as needed, and ensure compliance with GMP/OSHA standards. This on-site position is based in a manufacturing setting and offers growth within a major healthcare

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Ability to read complex drawings, specifications, and CAD/CAM data.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
  • Four-year apprenticeship or eight+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read codes including electrical, and obtain forklift accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain mechanical and electrical components of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems as directed.
  • Maintain auxiliary equipment, buildings, and grounds; operate forklifts.
  • Follow blueprints/CAD drawings; document maintenance work performed.
  • Perform setup, fabrication of repair parts, and welding as needed.
  • Move/install equipment; ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance.
  • Communicate issues to management and supervise staff if applicable.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. JOB SUMMARY
  • Will perform maintenance on all mechanical and electrical components of all manufacturing and processing equipment.and physical ,plumbing, carpentry vehicles.
  • Will repair and maintain all mechanical, electrical.
  • Will perform maintenance on all auxiliary equipment, buildings, grounds, and building.
  • Will perform work as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Will set-up and operate machines to repair or fabricate new repair parts.
  • Will operate cutting and welding equipment.
  • Will unload, move, install equipment, and operate forklifts and company vehicles.
  • Will record maintenance work performed on equipment. Candidates must possess the ability to read, interpret, and perform work based on blueprints and/or CAD drawings.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Employees will move material as requested and be responsible for the quality of their work.
  • Employees will be responsible for the cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment, general housekeeping, and 6S activities within their work areas.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply processes, criteria and required procedures.
  • Responsible for performing the job in a safe and environmentally advantageous manner by following all safety, regulatory, and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all federal, state, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next managment level
  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Requires high school education or equivalent.
  • Candidates will need to utilize and apply to job responsibilities complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas, shop mathematics, and a wide variety of precision-measuring instruments.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of mechanical equipment, electricity, plumbing, carpentry, construction, experience with PLCs and grounds keeping as acquired through a four (4)-year accredited apprenticeship or eight (8) or more years of diversified experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and apply relevant codes, including electrical codes and safety practices.
  • Required to obtain and maintain forklift operator accreditation.
