Job summary

Cavco Manufacturing LLC is seeking a Maintenance Associate to repair, install, and maintain machinery, equipment, and building systems at our facilities. You will follow blueprints, manuals, and drawings, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to perform preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

You will inspect equipment, diagnose problems by listening to machines, dismantle and replace parts, and ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Licenses and certificates may be required.
  • Courses in mechanics or blueprint reading are advantageous.
  • Repair work experience preferred.
  • Physical strength and hand-eye coordination required.
  • Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines to diagnose problems.
  • Dismantle defective machines and install parts following specifications.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
  • Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
  • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment.
  • May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Assess procedures and recommend improvements.

Job description

The Maintenance Associate repairs, installs, and maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments.. They can work in commercial, industrial, or residential spaces, performing maintenance duties themselves, or contracting service providers. They also carry out preventative maintenance.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Inspect and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.

  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction, and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.

  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.

  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun.

  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.

  • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

  • May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.

  • Assessing procedures and making recommendations for improvement.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma.

  • Relevant licenses and certificates may be required.

  • Courses in mechanical drawing, woodworking, electricity, and blueprint reading, would be advantageous.

  • Repair work experience.

  • Physical strength and good hand-eye coordination.

  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license.

  • Must maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment, as defined by company vehicle insurance standards.
