Full-Time Maintenance Technician

About the Position
The Maintenance Technician provides hands-on support for the overall maintenance and operation of Keller’s Flea Market. This position works throughout the property performing preventive maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, painting, cleaning, equipment operation, event support, and other operational responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, responding to changing priorities, and safely operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and equipment.
What You’ll Do
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform general building maintenance and routine repairs throughout the property.
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry-related maintenance.
- Identify maintenance concerns and communicate needed repairs to management.
- Perform painting projects, including surface preparation, patching, priming, and finishing.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and approved spray equipment.
- Assist with color matching and texture blending when needed.
- Use the appropriate tools and equipment for each assigned task.
- Complete daily maintenance and task documentation accurately.
Equipment & Grounds
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and approved equipment.
- Operate landscaping equipment, including zero-turn mowers, trimmers, and related equipment.
- Assist with mowing, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance.
- Operate golf carts and company vehicles as required.
- Operate machinery and equipment such as forklifts when properly trained and authorized.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
Market & Operational Support
- Support daily operations throughout the market.
- Respond to vendor and operational requests communicated by radio.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and support for special events.
- Deliver tables, equipment, and supplies to designated areas as needed.
- Assist with building cleanup and general property maintenance.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors and other common areas as needed.
- Help service, clean, and stock restrooms based on operational needs and established schedules.
Property & Waste Management
- Remove trash and debris throughout the market, including parking areas, food service areas, and common spaces.
- Ensure trash cans and dumpsters are emptied, exchanged, cleaned, and positioned properly.
- Assist with minor repairs to dumpster wheels, covers, and related components.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of waste and compactor areas.
- Follow established safety procedures when working around dumpsters, compactors, vehicles, and moving equipment.
Food Truck Support
- Support food truck operations as assigned.
- Ensure designated generators, UTVs, and fuel containers are properly fueled.
- Assist with gray-water removal according to established procedures.
- Provide clean-water service to food trucks when required.
- Maintain a safe and organized service area.
What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- General working knowledge of landscaping equipment, including zero-turn mowers and trimmers.
- Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and/or HVAC systems.
- Experience safely using hand and power tools such as drills, sanders, pressure washers, and similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to troubleshoot problems.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions while also working independently.
- Attention to safety and awareness of surroundings.
- Willingness to assist in different areas of Operations based on business needs.
- Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, landscaping, or similar experience is preferred.
- CDL experience is a plus but is not required.
Position Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Ability to safely lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in a physically active environment.
- Ability to safely operate approved company vehicles, tools, and equipment following required training.
- Must follow all Company safety procedures and equipment requirements.
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and reach.
- Push, pull, lift, and carry tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Climb and maintain balance when performing assigned work.
- Work safely on ladders and approved elevated work surfaces.
- Perform work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Work in confined areas when required and when appropriate safety procedures are in place.
