Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and HVAC components. This role supports drivers and fleets with state-of-the-art trucks.

Under supervision, you will diagnose multi-system issues, perform preventative maintenance, welding, and road service when needed, plus participate in company training and benefits programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and apply technical expertise.
• 3–5 years of experience in a technician role, or graduation from an automotive college/technical school within the next 3 months.
• ASE Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required; CDL is a plus but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency on chassis components, refuse bodies, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication; conducts preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses malfunctions using electronic tools and provides road service as needed.
• Ensures safety, completes required training, and adheres to company procedures.

**POSITION SUMMARY:** With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including, but not limited to, chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, hydraulic electrical, air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive train and steering systems. The Maintenance Technician B may also perform basic tire work, such as replacement, tire rotation, and tread depth checks.
