Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Maintenance Shop Foreman in our Hagerstown, MD Service Center. This full‑time role runs Monday to Friday, 6 am to 4:30 pm, with PTO after 90 days.

The candidate will oversee maintenance and repairs on heavy‑duty tractors and forklifts, perform day‑to‑day admin tasks, and ensure repair work is completed to high standards. Ownership of personal tools is required.

Qualifications

• Performs maintenance and repair on heavy‑duty tractors and forklifts.
• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance of tractor/trailers (air brakes, diesels, electrical).
• Experience with air brakes, clutches, electrical repairs, PMs, lift gates and overhead door repair.
• Truck, forklift and dry van trailer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs on trucks and forklifts.
• Handle day‑to‑day administrative duties related to maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all repairs and major repairs on trucks and forklifts are completed to standard.
• Possess own tools to complete tasks.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Performs the preventative and day-to-day maintenance and repair on heavy-duty tractors and forklifts.
• Perform day-to-day administrative duties.
• All repairs and major repairs on trucks and forklifts.
• Truck, forklift and dry van trailer experience would be a mandatory.
• Experience with air brakes, clutches, electrical repairs PM's, lift-gates, overhead door repair, etc.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of tractor/trailers (air brakes, clutches, diesel engines, lights and electrical repairs).
• Mechanic experience would be a plus
• Manager experience would be a plus
• Must have own tools
