Nucor Steel Brandenburg in Brandenburg, KY is seeking a Maintenance Shift Mechanic to safely perform preventative and corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems, and to propose innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process and business.

Candidates must have mechanical skills, at least 1 year of steel mill maintenance experience, and be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime.

Basic Job Functions

The role of the Maintenance Shift Mechanic is primarily two-fold. First, to be a great Nucor team member who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. Second, is to ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems, as well as proposing and implementing innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process and business. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, Nucor Steel Brandenburg will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.

Minimum Qualifications

• Mechanical Skills and Fundamental Knowledge
• Experience Troubleshooting Mechanical Systems
• 1+ years experience in steel mill maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Steel Casting production or maintenance
