Job summary

Korn Ferry Military Division seeks a Shift Manager (Maintenance) in Gary, IN to supervise, troubleshoot and improve reliability of mechanical and electrical systems in a 24/7 operation. You will lead union technicians and coordinate maintenance activities across a heavy manufacturing environment.

Applicants must have at least 4 years of Active Duty U.S. military experience and proven leadership with high-voltage electrical systems, substations, switchgear or motor controls.

Qualifications

• Active Duty U.S. military experience is required.
• Experience with high-voltage electrical systems, power generation, substations, switchgear or motor controls.
• Strong supervisory and communication skills required.
• Union leadership experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to evaluate and resolve operational conditions and improve reliability.
• Supervise, direct, and coordinate union technicians to repair and maintain equipment.
• Interpret specifications and blueprints and assign duties accordingly.
• Maintain inventories of spares and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Develop methods to eliminate maintenance problems and improve product quality.
• Perform scheduling, reporting, and safety-related administrative tasks.
