Job summary

Copeland Tower Living in Metairie, LA seeks a combined maintenance and overnight security position to keep the hotel safe and well‑maintained. You will perform HVAC, electrical and plumbing repairs, general carpentry, painting and preventive maintenance, while assisting guests and reporting status to the front desk and engineering leadership.

Flexibility for weekends/holidays is required; HVAC certification is preferred and you must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals and variable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of hotel or apartment experience.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Experience with general maintenance tools.
• Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel facilities per standards; handle service requests promptly.
• Perform guest room and public area maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• Check guest room appliances and circuits; repair as needed.
• Provide guest room service; report repair status to front desk and supervisors.
• Perform carpentry, tiling, painting, and wall repairs.
• Respond to guest questions, complaints, or requests in a timely, courteous manner.
• Keep tools, workspaces, and equipment properly maintained.
• Complete preventive maintenance checklists and records.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Copeland Tower is currently seeking a maintenance/security position.

Summary

Maintains the physical condition of the hotel according to established operating and safety standards, ensuring that service requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner. Also work overnight security some shifts.

Responsibilities & Job Duties

• Must be able to work three days in maintenance and two overnight security shifts.
• Performs general guest room and public area maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
• Checks on all guest room electrical appliances and circuits, including refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, making repairs where necessary.
• Provides guest room service. Repair status to front desk, Chief Engineer, and Executive Housekeeper.
• Performs general carpentry, tiling, painting and wall surface repairs.
• Responds in a timely, courteous manner to guest questions, complaints, or requests.
• Properly maintain tools, workspaces, and equipment.
• Completes preventive maintenance checklists and other maintained records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
