TxDOT's Austin District invites you to join our team as a Maintenance Section Assistant in Mason, Texas. You will support the Maintenance Section Supervisor and lead a team of Transportation Maintenance Crew Chiefs, technical experts, and clerical staff to ensure safe driving conditions across the county.
You’ll lead daily operations, respond to emergency notifications, and handle assignments independently while ensuring high safety and quality standards.
This position assists a Maintenance Section Supervisor in overseeing work completed by the crews and contractors, which provides a safe driving thoroughfare within a designated geographical area. Leads the work of transportation maintenance crews and support staff. Work requires responding to emergency notification on an as needed basis. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Education:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education
Experience:
6 YEARS of experience in roadway maintenance or construction related work (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
