Join us as our new Maintenance Scheduler

This position under supervised direction oversees the efficient scheduling of routine maintenance work for a microbial production site that operates on a 24/7 schedule. This role focuses on utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for coordination of work orders, resources, and materials to ensure timely and efficient maintenance execution with minimal downtime. This position will work Monday-Friday with hours of 7am-3:30pm.

In This Role You'll Make An Impact By

  • Coordinating scheduling for production/packaging and utility equipment shutdowns for Planned (preventative, predictive, etc.) and Corrective (non-emergency) Maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime
  • Partnering with Production/Packaging Supervisors and Planners/Schedulers to ensure all schedules and activities can be met
  • Working with Maintenance Inventory Specialist for timely procurement and acquisition of parts needed for maintenance activities
  • Ensuring work and documentation follows all safety, environmental, GMP requirements and policies (Pre-Job Safety Reviews, LOTO, Orange Tag policy, Confined Space Entry, etc.)
  • Assisting Maintenance Planner in establishing time standards for work performed, as needed
  • Assisting Maintenance Planner for scheduling Major PM Rebuilds (e.g., Separator, Homogenizer, Boilers majors, process calibrations, etc.)
  • Communicating to the stakeholders with information on when their requests will be executed
  • Attaining a thorough understanding of CMMS program; master data management, workflows for technical warehouse, work order request-planning-scheduling-completion, and understanding of metrics
  • Assisting in maintaining Master Equipment Asset Information in the CMMS
  • Analyzing, maintain, modify and update information related to Maintenance work orders
  • Working with Data Analyst to provide completion and compliance metrics for maintenance activities for each Cost Center
  • Supporting Asset Care events, Focused improvement teams, and other Maintenance initiatives to improve safety, quality, and reliability of production equipment and lines

To Be Successful You Must Hold

  • Gains knowledge and understands the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes
  • Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions Basic understanding of maintenance terminology and CMMS platforms
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal person to person and via email)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to read equipment drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience within a Food or Processing industry is preferred
  • Some mechanical / electrical equipment/process knowledge is desirable
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Trade Apprenticeship program or technical school background is desirable.

Working Conditions

Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate with occasional exposure to cold temperatures. Regular entry into the production facility requires Personal Protective Equipment to be worn at all times. This includes a lab coat, hair/beard net, safety glasses, and gloves.

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move materials or equipment up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employee may occasionally need to operate powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, etc. Training will be provided). Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
