Job summary

Canton Christian Home in Canton, OH is seeking a Maintenance & Safety Technician to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections across our skilled nursing and assisted living campus.

You will respond to work orders, coordinate with contractors, maintain logs, and help ensure OSHA and Life Safety Code compliance. A high school diploma or GED and experience in maintenance are preferred, with strong communication and physical stamina required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous maintenance experience preferred.
• Healthcare/ skilled nursing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to operate maintenance equipment and power tools safely.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, doors, locks, and fixtures.
• Maintain HVAC systems and coordinate outside contractors as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
• Conduct routine safety inspections throughout the facility.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and fire safety procedures.
• Maintain the grounds, including snow removal, salting sidewalks, mowing, and landscaping.
• Set up rooms for meetings and special events.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Life Safety Code, and facility policies.
• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records.
• Participate in the on‑call rotation for after‑hours maintenance emergencies.

Position Summary
