Responsabilités

• Plumbing and Heating: Repair piping, fixtures, valves, temperature controls, and related systems across the facility
• Electrical Repairs: Make minor electrical and mechanical fixes to lighting, machinery, and distribution equipment
• Carpentry and Construction: Remodel surfaces, build structures, and prepare and finish materials for long lasting use
• Painting and Finishing: Prepare surfaces, mix materials, and apply paint, stain, or wallpaper to interior and exterior areas
• Equipment Operation: Use and maintain a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Documentation and Safety: Complete forms accurately, observe safety precautions, and maintain clean and orderly work areas

This position provides skilled maintenance and repair services that support daily operations at Norristown State Hospital. Work spans several trades and helps ensure that facilities and equipment remain dependable and safe. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Plumbing and Heating: Repair piping, fixtures, valves, temperature controls, and related systems across the facility
• Electrical Repairs: Make minor electrical and mechanical fixes to lighting, machinery, and distribution equipment
• Carpentry and Construction: Remodel surfaces, build structures, and prepare and finish materials for long lasting use

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel as needed.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
