Job summary

Southern University at Shreveport is seeking a Maintenance Repairer 2 to join our team and help maintain a clean, welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Duties include general repairs to buildings and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry), replacing ceiling tiles, servicing university vehicles, and keeping maintenance books updated.

Appointment type is Probational; work location is SUSLA in Shreveport, LA.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in building trades or related maintenance.
• Completion of a two-year vocational program in general building construction or engineering.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, technology, or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Mend general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, and HVAC/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Replace ceiling tiles and perform maintenance on university vehicles.
• Replace bulbs and ballasts; grease pumps as required.
• Assist with key control and door locks; organize and update maintenance records.
