Job summary

Lakefront Management Authority is seeking a grass cutter to perform landscaping and grounds maintenance at airport facilities. The role includes cutting grass, removing debris, and ensuring daily maintenance meets environmental and safety standards.

The position requires either one year of related experience or training or six semester hours in construction-related fields. Responsibilities also cover repairs, painting, and assisting with airfield markings.

Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Responsibilities

• Performs landscaping and grass cutting activities at airport facilities as needed.
• Picks up debris and tree limbs throughout the airport.
• Safeguards that the day to day maintenance required to ensure functionality and environmental compliance is performed.
• Assists with airfield markings and conducts repairs as needed in accordance with FAA standards
• Assists in inspecting all facilities, grounds, systems, equipment, etc. to determine the need for various types of maintenance or repairs.
• Repairs fencing and light fixtures on airport grounds.
• Makes general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, air conditioning and heating systems and other items as needed.
• Cleans around the perimeter of Lakefront Airport buildings and grounds. Performs pressure washing and cleaning of parking lots as directed. Sweeps sidewalks and clears debris. Clears fence line of debris after rain events
• Cleans and paints offices inside of the Terminal building for tenants and LMA staff.
• Washes and ensures annual servicing on assigned airport and airport maintenance vehicles and equipment.
• Performs other facilities maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Repairer Master

The Lakefront Management Authority manages, controls, regulates, operates, and maintains any non-flood protection facility or improvement asset or function within a levee district within the jurisdiction of a flood protection authority.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

This position will be a grass cutter for the agency.

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: This appointment type can be filled as Probational - Up to 24 months.

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
