Job Title: Maintenance Reliability Engineer
Our client is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability and performance of equipment and processes at our food and beverage manufacturing facility. The role focuses on implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, analyzing equipment failures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize uptime, efficiency, and product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance engineering, reliability methodologies, and food manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Utilize root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify and resolve equipment failures.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, MTBF, and MTTR.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
- Implement and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and asset performance.
- Support capital projects by specifying reliability requirements for new equipment installations and modifications.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and operations, to ensure equipment meets food safety and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, GMPs).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians on best practices for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Manage vendor relationships for equipment reliability support and spare parts procurement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in Food/Beverage.
- At least 2 years' experience in maintenance, reliability, or industrial engineering.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, including RCA, FMEA, and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo).
- Experience with PLC systems, automation, and control systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMPs) and compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in manufacturing.
