Job summary

Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp seeks a Maintenance Clerk to manage plant purchasing in the maintenance area. You will process requisitions, issue and distribute purchase orders, and maintain a real-time orders database.

You’ll be the go-to contact for vendors to ensure timely delivery and smooth communication for equipment upkeep. The role emphasizes detail orientation, proactive communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• SAP knowledge preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Vendor & supplier management to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve invoice issues.
• Coordinate with vendors to schedule deliveries, address discrepancies and track outstanding orders for MRO buying.
• Maintain real-time database to track all orders and assist in reporting for management.
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports to management on Purchasing and Maintenance needs.
