Job summary

Riverside Commons in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily facility operations, interior and exterior upkeep, and trades including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and painting.

You will coordinate scheduled service from outside vendors, help keep a clean and organized workspace, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff through reliable, detail-oriented work.

Qualifications

• 2 years of maintenance experience across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
• Experience working with seniors and state/local agencies for inspections is a plus
• Prior work in a long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred
• Strong attention to detail; ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs

Responsibilities

• Assist in overall plant operations including interior and exterior maintenance
• Perform electrical/plumbing work, light construction, drywall patch/paint, and other tasks
• Coordinate scheduled service from outside vendors including HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tasks are completed timely and efficiently
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, multi-task, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless facility operations
