Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Porter to join a small, 2-3-person crew in maintaining this beautiful senior citizen apartment building.

Employment will end. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a janitorial role focused on building upkeep, with great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and restock disposables (e.g., soap).
• Clean mirrors, railings, door handles, elevators, windows, laundry facilities, etc.
• Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawns, and cleaning entrances.
• Report major damages.
• Undertake custodial and janitorial tasks (lifting heavy items, moving chairs, etc.).

Compensation: $20-$23

Requirements

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Self-starter with high standards who demonstrates professionalism and can work independently.
• Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact positively with seniors.
• Ability to learn and take direction.
• Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and insurance required.
• Must meet all physical requirements and be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Background and credit checks will be performed. We enforce a zero-tolerance drug-free environment. Work schedule: M-F, some weekends and holidays required.
