Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities is seeking a Maintenance Porter to keep the community clean inside and out, assist the maintenance team, and ensure safety and high resident satisfaction. The role requires basic maintenance know-how, a valid driver's license, and ability to multitask across tasks.

The position follows a split schedule Mon-Tue 8:00 AM–3:00 PM and Wed-Fri 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, with opportunities to learn general HVAC, electrical, and lighting system maintenance while upholding safety

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of groundskeeping/maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of tools and general maintenance processes.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Independent worker with multitasking ability.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Schedule: Mon-Tue 8:00-15:00 and Wed-Fri 10:00-17:00.

Responsibilities

• Clean grounds, breezeways and common areas.
• Keep stair towers clean and free of waste.
• Ensure exterior steps have treads and are safe.
• Remove snow and apply salt in inclement weather.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy and clean-out tasks.
• Inspect building exteriors and lighting; report repairs.
• Provide high resident satisfaction through professional interactions.
• Support maintenance of HVAC, electrical and lighting systems.
• Follow company safety and environmental policies.

About the role

Our Maintenance Porters have the general responsibility for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the community both inside and outside and may assist the maintenance technician team with diagnosing maintenance issues, making necessary repairs to ensure we are providing world-class service to our valued residents. This candidate will be working Monday-Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Wednesday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

What you'll be doing

• Cleaning, raking, and collecting debris from community grounds, breezeways and common areas.
• Keeping all stair towers clean and free of waste.
• Ensuring all exterior steps have treads and are safe.
• Removing snow and applying salt in inclement weather.
• Preparing vacant units for occupancy, including any necessary clean-out tasks.
• Performing daily inspections of building exteriors and lighting; reporting any required repairs or issues to the maintenance supervisor in a timely manner.
• Delivering the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive and professional interactions.
• Learn and provide maintenance support for general maintenance and orderliness of property HVA, mechanical, electrical, utilities and lighting systems. Including inspections and repairs.
• Ensuring the successful execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Who we're looking for
