The Lightwell Hotel and Spa in Hood River, Oregon, seeks a Maintenance Technician who thrives in a hands-on role to keep our property pristine, grounds inviting, and pool/spa facilities running smoothly. You will balance pool chemistry, maintain cleanliness in public areas, and assist with guest requests while coordinating with vendors for larger repairs.

Previous hospitality experience and a safety-first mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in hospitality, building caretaking, or public area cleaning.
• Prior experience with hotel/commercial pool or spa equipment; CPO certification preferred or willingness to get certified.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with hand tools and a safety-first mindset.
• Friendly, approachable and calm under pressure when interacting with guests.
• Able to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs during an 8-hour shift.
• Flexible schedules, including weekends and seasonal shifts based on hotel occupancy.

Responsibilities

• Balance pool chemistry daily, backwash filters, clean skimmers, and monitor heating systems to meet health standards.
• Keep lobby, corridors, event spaces, and public restrooms clean and guest-ready.
• Perform light touch-ups like replacing lightbulbs, changing air filters, and coordinate larger repairs with external vendors.
• Maintain curb appeal—sweep walkways, manage seasonal debris/snow, and keep entry areas spotless.
• Greet guests, assist with luggage or special requests, support housekeeping with linen delivery/bed stripping, and help setup event spaces.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain crystal-clear, inviting waters by balancing chemistry daily, backwashing filters, cleaning skimmers, and monitoring heating systems to meet health standards.
• Keep our lobby, corridors, event spaces, and public restrooms looking immaculate and ready for luxury guests.
• Handle light touch-ups like replacing lightbulbs, changing air filters, minor paint touch-ups, and identifying larger repair needs for external vendors.
• Maintain top-tier curb appeal—sweep walkways, manage seasonal debris/snow, and keep dumpster/entry areas spotless.
• Greet guests warmly, assist with luggage or special requests, support housekeeping with linen delivery/bed stripping, and help setup event spaces.

Experience and Skill:

• 1+ years in hospitality, building caretaking, or public area cleaning.
• Prior experience with hotel/commercial pool or spa equipment is a huge plus (CPO certification preferred, or a willingness to get certified!).
• Basic mechanical aptitude with hand tools, a sharp eye for minor cleanliness details, and a safety-first mindset.
• Friendly, approachable, and calm under pressure when interacting with guests.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout an active 8-hour shift.
• Available to work flexible schedules, including weekends and seasonal shifts based on hotel occupancy.
