Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) seeks a Maintenance Plumber to deliver day-to-day plumbing maintenance across St George Hospital and community health sites. You will perform minor and major works, installations, inspections and repairs to ensure reliability and safety of water and drainage systems.

The role requires plumbing trade qualification, ability to interpret plans, good time management, and willingness to participate in on-call rosters and after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated plumbing experience in maintenance of large building complexes and facilities, preferably hospitals, and proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver maintenance services in a busy environment.
• Able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision while following safe work practices.
• Proven skills in fault finding and problem solving, including the ability to interpret building and services plans.
• Plumbing trade qualification and knowledge and application of relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
• Be able to participate in an on-call roster, be available for afterhours call ins and work overtime as needed.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and work order systems.
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Work, Health and Safety and preferably hold a current white card Occupational Health and Safety General Induction for Construction in NSW.
• Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).

Responsibilities

• The Position of Maintenance Plumber is to provide the day to day plumbing maintenance services including minor/major plumbing works, repairs, installation, inspections, operation and repair of plumbing equipment and systems throughout the St George Hospital site and Community Health centre sites to ensure the maintenance objectives are met in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.
