Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Plumber – Level 3 for 2nd shift in Redondo Beach, CA, onsite. The role involves maintaining heating, water, and drainage systems and ensuring compliance with local codes.

Responsibilities include inspecting multiple systems, repairing fixtures, pipes, and fittings, and using standard plumbing tools. A Secret clearance is required or obtainable, with travel minimal and relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Understanding of various piping systems (air, steam, water, gas).
• Ability to inspect, identify, and repair plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine defects in, repair, and maintain heating, water, and drainage systems in facilities.
• Inspect high‑pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems for malfunctions.
• Repair or replace plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, and tanks.
• Replace washers and mend or replace burst or leaky pipes.
• Test joints and pipe systems for leaks and open clogged drains.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, and install pipes and fittings.
• Use plumbing tools such as snakes, wrenches, plungers, pipe threaders, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of local codes and perform other duties as assigned.

Travel: Yes (10% of time)

Responsibilities

• Determine defects in, repair, and maintain heating, water, and drainage systems in industrial or commercial establishments.
• Inspect high‑pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions.
• Repair or replace plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, and hot water tanks.
• Replace washers.
• Mend or replace burst or leaky pipes.
• Test joints and pipe systems for leaks.
• Open clogged drains.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, ream, and install pipe and pipe fittings.
• Use plumbing tools such as snakes, wrenches, plungers, pipe threaders, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of local codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 additional years of education and/or related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Understanding of various piping systems (air, steam, water, and gas).
• Ability to inspect, identify, and provide solutions to repair systems.
• Experience using basic plumbing tools (e.g., basin wrench, pipe wrench, compression sleeve puller, drain auger, tongue‑and‑groove pliers).

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with large/multi‑site facility plumbing.
• Certified in backflow.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,600.00 – $121,000.00. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off.
