Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Maintenance Planner for the Newberry, SC site to coordinate and schedule all plannable maintenance work, maintain records for analysis, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires coordinating with supervisors, planners, and contractors to keep equipment reliable and safe.

Responsibilities include daily scheduling, parts ordering, safety participation, and RCFA involvement. The position offers on-site work with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• CMMS experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years Maintenance Planner experience including responsibility for planning daily maintenance and scheduled outages preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across different levels at the mills.

Responsibilities

• Daily review maintenance time sheets and compare completed work orders and PMs to time sheets, ensuring numbers and time match and rescheduling as needed.
• Review work orders for parts that need ordering.
• Review completed PMs and ensure appropriate work orders are written.
• Write work orders as needed.
• Plan and schedule maintenance work orders and PMs daily in order of highest priority, prioritizing safety-related work orders.
• Ensure parts are in stock for scheduled work.
• Create purchase requisitions and order non-stock items.
• Track problem areas by reviewing locations with repetitive work orders.
• Track failures through open work orders to completion.
• Schedule outside contractors for maintenance or repair services as needed.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings.
• Communicate daily with Maintenance Supervisor about issues and recurring problems.
• Participate in RCFA activities to identify and implement solutions to failures.
• Interface with Predictive Maintenance Technicians to ensure data informs planned maintenance.
• Maintenance Clerk backup duties as needed.
