Job summary

Clean Harbors in Sumter, SC is seeking a Maintenance Planner to maximize asset availability by planning maintenance, preparing work orders, and coordinating with shops and mechanics. The role focuses on scheduling with manpower and space constraints to minimize delays.

You will work with regional teams and external maintenance providers, track repairs in the Asset Management system, and help reduce costs while upholding safety and quality standards.

• Create and manage fleet repair orders with regional hub and mechanics.
• Coordinate daily with the Lead Mechanics/Branches/Mobile mechanics to schedule work into the shops.
• Target completion of fleet overdue inspections, recalls, DOT compliance, and campaigns.
• Track repairs in the Asset Management system including repair orders, quotes, inspection forms, purchase orders and invoices.
• Facilitate maintenance repair requests with management, shop personnel and third-party vendors.
• Participate in periodic planning meetings with the internal maintenance group and shop meetings.
• Review repair quotations and identify areas to reduce repair costs.
• Coordinate transportation of units in need of repair or back into service.

Clean Harbors is looking for a Maintenance Planner to be located out of Sumter, SC. The Maintenance Planner MX is responsible for maximizing operational profit through the use of effective planned maintenance. Accountable for the daily preparation of work orders, parts availability inquiries. Schedules all maintenance in accordance with manpower and shop space availability to minimize maintenance delays and maximize asset availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate daily with the Lead Mechanics/Branches/Mobile mechanics to schedule work into the shops.
• Work with Clean Harbors operational groups to target completion of fleet overdue inspections, recalls, DOT compliance, and campaigns;
• Follow repair process from repair creation to completion and communicate repair timeline status to all necessary parties;
• Track all repairs in the Clean Harbors Asset Management system including repair order notes, quotes, inspection forms, purchase orders, and final invoices;
• Facilitate maintenance repair requests with management, the shop mechanic and third party vendors;
• Participate in the periodic planning meetings with the internal maintenance group and shop meetings;
• Review all repair quotations and identify areas where repair cost can be reduced / eliminated;
• Facilitate transportation of units in need of repair or maintenance as well as completed units being placed back into service;
• Assist coworkers with asset management and repair order system issues, Credit card payments, Purchase order, and invoice inquires
