Job summary

Clean Harbors in Sumter, SC, seeks a Maintenance Planner to maximize asset availability by planning maintenance and preparing work orders daily. You will coordinate with regional hubs, asset management, and shop mechanics to ensure repairs and inspections are completed on time while minimizing delays.

The role involves tracking repairs in the asset system, coordinating with internal and external teams, and supporting procurement and invoicing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage fleet repair orders with Regional Hub Manager, Asset management, and mechanics.
  • Coordinate daily with Lead Mechanics/Branches/Mobile mechanics to schedule work in shops.
  • Track repairs in Asset Management system with notes, quotes, inspections, POs and invoices.
  • Facilitate maintenance repair requests with management, mechanics, and vendors.
  • Participate in planning meetings and review quotations to reduce costs.

Clean Harbors is looking for a Maintenance Planner to be located out of Sumter, SC. The Maintenance Planner MX is responsible for maximizing operational profit through the use of effective planned maintenance. Accountable for the daily preparation of work orders, parts availability inquiries. Schedules all maintenance in accordance with manpower and shop space availability to minimize maintenance delays and maximize asset availability.

Responsibilities
  • Work with internal and outsourced maintenance companies within the region, and occasionally throughout the US.
  • Create and manage fleet repair orders working closely with the Regional Hub Manager, Asset management, and mechanics in assigned maintenance shops.
  • Coordinate daily with the Lead Mechanics/Branches/Mobile mechanics to schedule work into the shops.
  • Work with Clean Harbors operational groups to target completion of fleet overdue inspections, recalls, DOT compliance, and campaigns;
  • Follow repair process from repair creation to completion and communicate repair timeline status to all necessary parties;
  • Track all repairs in the Clean Harbors Asset Management system including repair order notes, quotes, inspection forms, purchase orders, and final invoices;
  • Facilitate maintenance repair requests with management, the shop mechanic and third party vendors;
  • Participate in the periodic planning meetings with the internal maintenance group and shop meetings;
  • Review all repair quotations and identify areas where repair cost can be reduced / eliminated;
  • Facilitate transportation of units in need of repair or maintenance as well as completed units being placed back into service;
  • Assist coworkers with asset management and repair order system issues, Credit card payments, Purchase order, and invoice inquires
