Duration: 24 Months with possible extension/conversion
Location: Ankeny, IA 50023
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Overtime may be required, including weekends
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner will plan and schedule preventive and ongoing maintenance for plant equipment, buildings, and facilities. The role coordinates maintenance requests, assigns work to skilled trades personnel, supports parts and material procurement, and helps improve equipment uptime and maintenance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and evaluate maintenance requests from across the facility.
  • Prioritize, plan, and schedule maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Assign work to non-skilled, semi-skilled, and skilled maintenance personnel, including mechanics, toolmakers, pipe fitters, tool grinders, and machine hands.
  • Provide technical support to skilled trades by: Obtaining engineering drawings. Reviewing proper procedures, Identifying required parts, equipment, and tools.
  • Identify suppliers, obtain quotes, and issue purchase orders for repair parts, spare parts, materials, and services.
  • Provide daily work direction to maintenance personnel and provide supervision when required.
  • Generate maintenance and operational reports.
  • Track crib and self-help stock usage and inventory levels to maintain appropriate inventory and support cost reduction.
  • Coordinate the creation and updating of preventive maintenance reports to improve machine uptime and support OSHA/ANSI standards.
  • Participate in engineering services projects supporting the maintenance and operation of plant facilities and equipment.
