Job summary

Pero Family Farms is seeking a Maintenance Planner in Delray Beach, FL to evaluate incoming maintenance requests, define job scope and priority, and develop detailed work orders. You will bridge maintenance, production, and procurement, ensuring timely, organized operations and CMMS data accuracy.

You will assist with budgets, parts and services, and planned work; coordinate preventive maintenance programs and ensure alignment with business needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification/associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in maintenance or facilities operations; maintenance technician experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Able to read blueprints/schematics and measurements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules and coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance work.
  • Manage progress of approved work requests through planned cycle and gather technical input.
  • Determine equipment, materials and labor needed to complete work.
  • Manage parts/inventory for planned work, PMs and critical spares.
  • Schedule PM distribution and ensure materials are available to meet due dates.
  • Develop and implement work aids to streamline maintenance processes; run reports and track budgets.
  • Maintain CMMS data, asset histories and alignment with corporate standards.
  • Generate/coordinate PM schedules and develop PMs for new assets; lead PM improvement.
  • Assist in stores and purchasing; identify parts, stock and life-cycle costing.
  • Educate and review personnel and vendors; support leadership in vendor evaluation.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for evaluating incoming maintenance requests, determining job scope and priority, developing detailed work orders and instructions, and ensuring all maintenance activities are following the needs of the business. This position will manage the flow of work within the maintenance department and serve as the bridge between maintenance, production, and procurement. The planner ensures the maintenance department is well-organized, timely, and aligned with operational priorities. Along with being the keeper of the CMMS system and it processes you will also help with the budget, parts, outside services and education, and planned work overcite for the maintenance department.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans, schedules and coordinates preventive, corrective maintenance work.
    • Managing the progress of approved work requests throughout planned work cycle.
    • Gathering and analyzing job requirements. Clarify issues with requesters and gather technical input as needed.
    • Determining equipment, materials, and labor needed to complete the work.
    • Responsible for the development and management of parts and inventory used for planned work, PMs, spare parts and critical spare parts needed to support the business needs.
    • Schedules the PMs distribution and ensures there are materials available to complete the PM on or before the due date.
  • Develops work, lists, and spreadsheets
    • Develop and implement, with approval, work aids to streamline the maintenance process.
    • Run reports daily, weekly, and monthly, and send to desired groups
    • Update the budget and spend tracking spreadsheet to assist with cost tracking.
    • Ensure all approved work has all the necessary components: Work orders with clear instructions, Reference diagrams, manuals, or technical notes, Parts and materials list and location, Safety checklists or permits
  • Ensures the CMMS system and all data files are current
    • Maintain accurate maintenance history and asset data in the CMMS
    • Review asset log entries and histories for accuracy
    • As necessary, review and modify asset associated parts and part consumption history
    • Maintain alignment system codes with the current corporate standards
    • Maintain and back up all “program” data per corporate standards
    • Perform data mining to uncover events that warrant an investigation and head up the RCFA team to come to a resolution to the issue
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) Development and Coordination
    • Use the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to generate and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Ensure PMs are scheduled on time and adjusted according to asset performance and reliability trends.
    • Develops the PMs for new assets.
    • Manages the PM improvement process.
  • Assist the Maintenance team with stores and purchasing functions
    • Help identify parts and materials for equipment, stock, planned work, and critical spares.
    • Maintain inventory and suggest changes based on mini-analysis and trending needs
    • Maintain the parts room organization standard based on the established A-B-C indicator.
    • Perform life cycle costing on parts and goods as needed.
  • Assist in educating and reviewing personnel and vendors
    • Work with the leadership in educating new or returning members of the team on the process we have established.
    • Based on the education on subjects that are appropriate for their level of interaction with the WO system and the maintenance department. Things like: What information to put on a work request, how to find the right asset, How to track work you have requested, etc.
    • Assist maintenance leadership in vendor, contractor, and personnel evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical certification or an associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in maintenance or facilities operations. Prior experience as a maintenance technician is highly preferred.
  • Technical: Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Able to read blueprints, schematics, and precision measurements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Certifications (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10/30 or relevant safety training
