Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a skilled maintenance supervisor for our Rock Valley, IA plant to manage preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facilities. The role involves receiving maintenance requests, prioritizing and assigning duties to trades personnel, coordinating parts purchases, and generating reports to improve uptime and safety compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.

Job description

Duration: 12 months

Schedule:Hours are 5am-3pm Mon - Thurs and Friday 5am-10am with flexibility as business demands with possible OT.

Job Description:

• Plans and schedules the ongoing maintenance and preventive maintenance for all of the plant equipment, as well as the building and facilities.
• Receives maintenance requests, then prioritizes, plans, and assigns duties to various plant skilled trades personnel, such as mechanics, toolmakers, pipe fitters, tool grinders, and machine hands.
• May order and purchase the parts and materials necessary to complete maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Receives maintenance requests from throughout the facility.
• Prioritizes, plans and assigns jobs to non-skilled, semi-skilled and/or skilled maintenance personnel to repair or perform preventive maintenance on production and facilities equipment.
• Provides technical support to skilled trades, to include acquiring drawings, reviewing proper procedures, identifying parts, equipment and tools.
• Identifies sources, secures quotes and issues purchase orders for repair and spare parts, and other materials and services required to support maintenance activities.
• Provides work direction to non-skilled, semi-skilled and/or skilled personnel on a daily basis and may provide supervision in supervisor's absence.
• Generates various reports as needed.
• Tracks crib and self-help stock usage and inventory levels in order to maintain reasonable levels of inventory and support cost reduction efforts.
• Coordinates the creation and updating of preventative maintenance report to support improved machine uptime as well as OSHA and ANSI standards.
• Participates in engineering services projects to support the maintenance and operation of facilities and equipment.

Skillsets

• Analyzes machine failures, overhauls, dismantles, adjusts, and makes general repairs to machines, machine tools, and mechanical equipment which requires accurate alignment and fitting to close limits.
• Builds or completely rebuilds machines, machine tools, and mechanical equipment to new machine tolerances, redesigning, realigning and making any required new or replacement parts.
• Inspects and checks machines, machine tools and mechanical equipment, makes out inspection report as to condition of same and what major repairs are necessary in the near future.
• Plans work sequence, obtains necessary tools and equipment to perform job.
• Works from prints, manufacturer's instruction sheets or sketches as required.
• Completely overhauls complex machines.
• Operates all types of machines and produces new or replacement parts to very close tolerances.
• Rebuilds equipment by dismantling and installing new parts, scraping and fitting to extremely close tolerances to obtain original alignment.
• Adjusts equipment for working clearances to close tolerances that are difficult to attain.
• Fits and aligns gears, shafts, wheels and attaches motors or aligns pulleys machines, machine tools and mechanical equipment.
• Checks and inspects equipment in location and makes necessary adjustments or repairs as required.
• Oils and greases equipment rebuilt and/or repaired.
• Lubricates and cleans equipment, cleans work area and performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and ladder logic printouts to trace circuit operation and isolate fault locations. 240/480V electrical systems.
