Job description

Overview:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling Line Maintenance activities using a Maintenance Due Report (MDR) to ensure FAA compliance and the integrity of the flying schedule. The Planner coordinates with various departments to balance maintenance needs with operational requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review Short, Mid, and Long-Term reports to schedule routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
• Schedule time-controlled parts to ensure availability without disrupting operations.
• Coordinate with Material Services and AOG (Buyer/Purchasing) to ensure timely parts arrival for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
• Verify stock levels for required parts and request additional parts as needed.
• Plan daily workload allocation, considering staff skills and space.
• Interface with SOC, MCC, and maintenance stations to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Monitor and update the 6-Month Check calendar.
• Audit work package data and paperwork to ensure completeness.
• Schedule engineering documents such as EOs, EAs, and FCDs.
• Notify management immediately of discrepancies or FAA overflight requirements.
• Organize nightly work packages by aircraft to ensure maintenance completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager of Maintenance Planning.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of FAR, AMP/MPD, ADs, and SBs.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance planning or related engineering disciplines, with a valid A&P certificate preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and TRAX.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and be legally eligible to work.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning in a Part 121 environment preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and occasionally sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
