Job summary

Brookfield Renewable N.A. in Lewiston, ME (or Berlin, NH) seeks an experienced maintenance specialist to support planning and coordinating safe, efficient repair and maintenance of hydroelectric facilities on the Androscoggin River.

You will create work orders, manage preventative maintenance in the IFS/Maximo/SAP systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead safety and reliability improvements with field technicians.

Responsibilities

• Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are entered into the Maintenance Management program (IFS).
• Create work orders, print preventative maintenance work packages, and provide to technicians.
• Ensure all work packages sent to the field comply with regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of operation.
• Close out preventative maintenance work packages when complete.
• Manage maintenance and repair projects: define scope, issue RFQs, select vendors, prepare safety plans, manage field execution.
• Develop station outage plans aligned with the annual maintenance schedule.
• Assist Operations Manager in developing annual budgets with upcoming maintenance scopes and numbers.
• Develop safety, environmental, operational, and maintenance procedures for field use.
• Lead reliability improvement efforts in assigned area and mentor field technicians.
• Plan and coordinate relay and meter testing per compliance program.
• Be available for calls during power system disruptions to aid in problem solving and supervise repairs.

Location: Lewiston, ME or Berlin, NH

Expected salary range $95k-$105k based on experience, with a 10% annual target bonus

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting operations in planning and coordinating safe, efficient repair and maintenance of Brookfield hydroelectric facilities and associated equipment on the Androscoggin River.

Responsibilities

• Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are entered into the Maintenance Management program (IFS);
• Create work orders, print out preventative maintenance work packages and provide to technicians;
• Ensure all work packages sent to the field are in compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of operation and conduct;
• Close out preventative maintenance work packages when complete;
• Manage maintenance and repair projects, define scope, send out RFQ’s, select vendor, prepare project safety plans, manage project execution in the field;
• Develop station outage plans that fall in line with the annual maintenance schedule;

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred), or related field, or Military experience.
• A minimum of four years of experience in the maintenance of power station equipment maintenance (including transmission, distribution and generation systems),
• Working knowledge hydropower turbine/generator systems and related equipment, standards, codes and regulations,
• Experience with reading (and working from) drawings, blueprints, specifications, schematics,
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn additional software related to the ordering of parts and materials,
• Knowledge of related industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA and knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and Safety/Environmental rules and regulations;
• Ability to plan and administer projects and corresponding budgets.
