Job summary

Sedona Staffing is seeking a Maintenance Planner / Continuous Improvement professional in Lena, IL to improve equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency. You will develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans, manage planning and parts, and support continuous improvement initiatives across Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance and maintenance planning.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
• Experience with CMMS/SAP and maintenance inventory management.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and use basic shop mathematics and precision measuring tools.

• Plan and coordinate maintenance work, including work orders, schedules, parts, and resources using CMMS/SAP.
• Analyze downtime, OEE, yields, and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead and support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives, including root-cause analysis and loss reduction.
• Partner with Maintenance and Production to troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement lasting solutions.
• Support equipment trials, new installations, automation, and engineering projects.
• Maintain maintenance procedures, equipment records, and performance documentation.
• Support reliable operation of plant equipment, utilities, refrigeration/ammonia, steam, water, and wastewater systems.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support maintenance team training and continuous improvement practices.
• Monitor maintenance costs, inventory, and resource utilization and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate food safety concerns to Quality and support the facility's food safety management system.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner / Continuous Improvement role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and manufacturing performance. This position develops preventive and predictive maintenance plans, manages maintenance planning and parts, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and assists with equipment, automation, and engineering projects. The position works closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Quality to improve equipment reliability, OEE, yields, safety, and operating costs.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work is performed in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, machinery, wet/humid conditions, fumes, and cold temperatures. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and other physical activity, with occasional lifting of 50 pounds or more. Required PPE must be worn as applicable.

Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food or dairy manufacturing.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance and maintenance planning.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
• Experience with CMMS/SAP and maintenance inventory management.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and use basic shop mathematics and precision measuring tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Processing, or related field.
• Maintenance or continuous improvement leadership experience.
• Experience with OEE, RCA, Lean, reliability, or other continuous improvement methods.
• Knowledge of refrigeration/ammonia, utilities, wastewater, and plant equipment.
• Experience with equipment installation and sanitary design principles.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable industry standards.
