Job summary

INEOS Pigments, Ashtabula, OH, is seeking a Maintenance Planner to develop, monitor and update planned job packages for maintenance repair work and improvement projects. This salaried role may involve preventive, corrective maintenance, and occasional supervision of maintenance personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary in a related discipline is a plus.
• Five years of maintenance planning, preventive maintenance and turnaround experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of plant equipment (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, valves).
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret machine/process drawings.
• Knowledge of SAP in plant maintenance and material management.
• Strong attention to detail and planning focus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop quality job plans with drawings, instructions, procedures and material lists.
• Create and update reusable maintenance job plans as needed.
• Estimate labor, materials and service requirements and costs.
• Participate in pre-job reviews with contractors to cover safety and requirements.
• Procure maintenance goods and services, issue requisitions and track orders.
• Participate in problem-solving activities including RCFA.
• Analyze job performance vs plan; compare labor and material actuals to estimates.
• Perform inventory analysis and setup for new equipment and spares.
• Act as company representative for contractors and vendors as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Maintenance Planner develops, monitors and updates planned job packages for maintenance repair work and improvement projects. This may include Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, project work, Planned Plant Shutdowns and/or occasional supervising of Maintenance Department personnel as assigned. This is a non‑exempt salaried position classified as a Safety Critical role.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop quality job plans which are accurate and result in efficient work execution. These include necessary drawings, equipment instructions, procedures, material lists, tool and equipment lists.
• Create and update reusable job plans as needed.
• Estimate labor resources, material, and service requirements and associated costs.
• Participate in pre‑job review meetings with outside service contractors to review job and safety requirements.
• Procure maintenance goods, materials and services including initiating requisitions, tracking purchase orders, and goods receipts using the computerized system.
• Participate in problem‑solving activities, including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
• Analyze the execution of the job versus the job plan and compare labor and material actuals versus estimates.
• Perform new equipment and spare parts inventory analysis, set‑up, change descriptions, and deletion.
• Act as a company job representative for contractors and vendors as needed.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

About You

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Post‑secondary education in a related discipline a plus.
• Five (5) years relevant experience in maintenance planning, preventative maintenance and execution, and Turnaround execution in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing plant equipment (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, valves, etc.).
• Must possess and maintain an in‑depth knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance of manufacturing facilities.
• Detailed knowledge of SAP in the areas of plant maintenance and material management.
• Demonstrate ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings. Can sketch or redline existing drawings.
• Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes.
• Attention to detail and project/planning focus.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Proven ability to create, maintain data and use reporting features of office software programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
• Self‑motivation and independent thinking.

Schedule/Hours

This is a salaried non‑exempt day schedule position with occasional overtime.
