Job summary

INEOS Pigments in Ashtabula, OH, is seeking a skilled I&E Planner to organize maintenance job order packages, sourcing resources and coordinating with contractors for plant work orders.

The role is salaried, day shift, safety critical, with responsibilities spanning planning, materials, tools, and vendor coordination to ensure on-time, on-budget execution at the Plant 1 site.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related discipline is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience with exposure to I&E Maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems; experience with P&ID’s.
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation and electrical practices, including low/high voltage and multi‑phase systems.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office; able to create and maintain data and run reports.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of plant pipe specifications, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps and motors.

Responsibilities

  • Create job packages/work orders for maintenance actions focusing on instrumentation & electrical maintenance.
  • Plan work orders: assess scope, collect drawings/specs/procedures, estimate manpower, procure materials, and build detailed job plans.
  • Lead and/or participate in sourcing, bidding and requisitioning for third party services.
  • Coordinate for contractor utilization, write change orders, attend pre/post-job reviews.
  • Ensure orders are correctly assigned, create task lists and BOM changes per guidelines.
  • Analyze execution versus plan, maintain future job plan files, and solicit feedback for improvement.
  • Set up and delete spare parts to support maintenance activities.
  • Assist on maintenance shutdowns and outages, off-hours coverage, rotating weekends.
  • Create job order packages by priority; communicate with managers and maintenance teams.
  • Strive for operational excellence by maintaining safety, reliability, quality and cost through planned maintenance.
  • Attend scheduling meetings and maintain SAP backlog per process.

About the Role

Upon receiving a maintenance request to create a job order package, the I&E Planner will plan, develop and organize all internal, external resources consisting of all material, services and labor necessary to fulfill the request within the required time and with the allowable resources.

This is a salaried, non-exempt, day shift position. It is designated as a Safety Critical role.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing available internal/external resources creates job packages/work orders for maintenance actions with a primary focus on instrumentation & electrical maintenance processes/projects for the Plant 1 site.
  • Prepares and performs detailed planning for work order notifications/packages to include but not be limited to: assessing the scope of work to be done via notification text / field verification, collecting drawings / specifications / procedures / welding QAQC plans / etc. pertinent to complete the work, estimating manpower of skill crafts, procuring material / services, determining special tools / equipment / etc. required to execute the work, and assimilating timely job plans and packages per the needs of Operations, Maintenance Supervisor, Specialist and/or Mechanics per Workflow Maintenance Guideline 101.1.
  • Leads and/or participates in the sourcing, bidding and requisitioning for third party services.
  • Provide coordination required for utilization of the contractors as necessary including writing change orders and participating in pre-job/post job review meetings with outside service contractors to review job requirements.
  • Changing notification(s) to orders which includes the following: insuring that the order type and maintenance activity types are accurately assigned on the order, using or creating task lists for repetitive jobs, using or creating BOM’s where appropriate. BOM changes are made in accordance with Maintenance Guideline.
  • the execution of the job versus the job plan and compares labor and material actual versus estimates.AnalyseDevelop and maintain job plan files for future reference. Solicit feedback on executed job plans and make necessary changes to insure continuous planning improvement.
  • Set up and delete spare parts as required to support maintenance activities using structure per Maintenance Guideline.
  • Provide assistance on maintenance shutdowns and outages, off-hours coverage, supervisor coverage and rotating weekend duty as required.
  • Creates job order packages by priority and through communication with their managers, the maintenance superintendents, production superintendents, reliability, other maintenance planners and PMCs.
  • Strive for unit/plant operational excellence by developing efficient and cost-effective job plans, maintain high levels of performance in safety, compliance, reliability, quality, and cost through planned maintenance activities.
  • Communicate with Production Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Specialist, and others as necessary to establish work priorities. Attend 5-day scheduling meeting with Production Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Specialist.
  • Be the owner of the SAP Work order Backlog for area assigned. The Backlog should be maintained in a fashion that is compliant with the Maintenance Workflow Process.
  • Ensure the MOC / RFC process is followed as required per AC/QSP-AC-12.
  • Identify contractors capable of assisting in the identification of solutions to eliminate recurring problems associated with plant equipment. Provide coordination required for utilization of the contractors as necessary.

About You

You should possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in a related discipline is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience with exposure to I&E Maintenance in a manufacturing environment prefer chemical manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and of manufacturing systems/machinery and components in those systems. Experience with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s).
  • Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical practices and processes to include low and high voltage and multi-phase systems and components.
  • Functionality with various computer programs (SAP, word, excel, etc.). Proven ability to create, maintain data and use reporting features of office software programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP or equivalent with specific knowledge in the maintenance, storeroom, and purchasing modules.
  • Mechanical Aptitude; Use of precision measurement tools and assembly techniques, mechanical print reading. Knowledge and understanding of Plant pipe specifications, pneumatic, hydraulics, pumps and motors.
  • Attention to detail and project/planning focus. Ability to work unsupervised. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
