Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a Maintenance Pipefitter to service and repair building piping systems, including PVC, copper and other materials. The role focuses on potable water, grey water and other piping systems and allows work on plumbing fixtures and replacements.

The position requires the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and adapt to multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be able to work at extreme heights or in confined spaces.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs.

Responsibilities

• The Maintenance Pipefitter is responsible for maintenance and repairs of building piping systems.
• Also completing repairs on various piping systems (composed of PVC, copper and other piping materials).
• Repairs on potable water, grey water and other piping systems in buildings;
• Repairs to plumbing fixtures and replacements.
