Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Pipe Fitter to install and test piping systems aboard ships. You will read blueprints, fabricate components, and install piping throughout the shop and on vessels.

Training begins with Fundamentals of Piping Fitting, with ongoing opportunities to advance your skills. Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of Pipe Fitter experience and be willing to undergo background checks, drug screening, and overtime as

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of Pipe Fitter experience.
• Must be able to take measurements or learn.
• Background investigation and drug screen required.
• Pass a physical agility test.
• Able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Able to perform overhead work.
• Willing to work overtime.
• Clean shaven to wear a respirator.
• Work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Able to work at extreme heights and in small spaces.
• Willing to work any shift.
