Job summary

Alter Trading Corporation in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a Maintenance Person to keep our equipment running at peak performance. The role is outdoors and weather-exposed, with a 6:30 AM start on Monday–Friday and occasional Saturdays.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment while maintaining records and assisting with welding and fabrication. Required: prior maintenance experience on large equipment, welding (Stick & Mig), and a high school

Qualifications

• Previous Maintenance Experience working on large equipment, required.
• Welding (Stick & Mig) and fabricating skills are required.
• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Familiarity with yard vehicles, forklift, loaders, and material separators a definite plus.
• Organizational skills required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 – 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and conduct preventive maintenance on all facility equipment.
• Inspect and conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment.
• May maintain facility equipment, on or off site including but not limited to: Cranes, Fork Lifts, Loaders, Non-ferrous Shear, Skid Steer, Sorting Lines, Shredders, Trucks, Trailers, Wire Striper.
• Prepare & maintain all maintenance records.
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of Maintenance Department.
• Involved in other responsibilities including ordering parts, welding, and fabricating, minor electrical repairs.
