Job summary

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center in Alabama seeks a Facilities/Maintenance Technician to perform routine upkeep and repair of the physical plant, building and equipment. Shift is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and applicants must be at least 21.

Requires experience in painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades; one year of maintenance and repair experience; security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in carpentry, painting, masonry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanics, and security.
• At least one year of building maintenance and repair experience.
• Security experience preferred.

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

We are currently seeking a Facilities/Maintenance Technician (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

The Facilities/Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the routine upkeep, maintenance and repairs to physical plant, building, and equipment.

MUST HAVE Experience in the following areas:

Painting- professional industrial/business

Sheetrock/drywall repair

Basic, general experience in electrical, plumbing, and maintenace repair.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Knowledge and experience in the following areas: carpentry, painting, masonry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanics, security.

One year experience in building maintenance and repair required

One year experience in security preferred
