Job summary

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is seeking a Maintenance I / Painter to keep guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas in top condition. You will perform painting, wallpaper work, drywall prep, and general maintenance across hotel facilities, ensuring high appearance and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in painting and related trades, with knowledge of drywall/plaster prep. Day-to-day tasks include completing work orders, prioritizing assignments, and supporting the

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years painting and wallpaper background, including Tile and Drywall knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience in installing and preparing drywall and plaster surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the hotel and facilities.
• Complete daily job assignments and work orders in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain a fast-paced position with prioritization and movement between assignments as needed.
• Respond to Guest maintenance requests in a timely, professional and friendly manner.
• Keep maintenance supplies cataloged, stocked, and orderly.
• Assist other maintenance team members with special projects as needed.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, guest rooms, public areas or equipment as assigned.

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is a sprawling 357-room resort, boasting multiple dining options, a beautiful, pool, a kid’s pool, astonishing Bay views, fire pits and so much more. We are excited to welcome a new Maintenance I / Painter to our Mission Bay Family.

The JOB:

As a Maintenance 1/ Painter you will help ensure that all areas of the resort are maintained to the highest appearance and working condition. Maintain the Guest rooms, public space, and back of the house areas to ensure they are presentable and in good working order.

To be successful in the Maintenance position in our Engineering department, you:

• Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the hotel and facilities.
• Complete daily job assignments and work orders in a professional and timely manner.
• Have the ability to maintain fast-paced position that will involve prioritization and moving from assignment to assignment as the need presents itself.
• Reply to all Guest maintenance requests in a timely, professional and friendly manner.
• Keep maintenance supplies cataloged, stocked, and orderly.
• Assist other maintenance Team Members with special projects as needed and assigned.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, guest rooms, public areas or equipment as assigned.

Requirements

A qualified candidate will have previous professional painting & maintenance experience with knowledge of multiple different maintenance specialties including:

• Minimum of 3 years painting and wallpaper background, including Tile and Drywall knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience in installing and preparing drywall and plaster surfaces.

This position requires full availability for any morning, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts.
