Job summary

Kona Kai San Diego Resort is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Supervisor to join our island-inspired resort on Shelter Island. You will report to The Director of Engineering and oversee the maintenance and operation of our facilities, equipment, and building systems.

You will supervise the engineering team, manage work orders and preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair systems, and ensure a safe, guest-ready environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.

We are currently seeking a positive, hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join our fantastic team as our Hotel Maintenance Supervisor at our island-inspired resort.

THE JOB:

This role will report to: The Director of Engineering

The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and operation of resort facilities, equipment, and building systems. This hands-on role supervises engineering team members, manages work orders, supports preventive maintenance programs, and helps ensure a safe and exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering team members and daily operations.
• Manage work orders and preventive maintenance programs.
• Diagnose and repair building, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
• Conduct safety inspections and support special projects.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to use power and hand tools safely.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Open availability, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred

• HVAC and refrigeration experience.
• EPA 608 Certification.
• Experience with painting, drywall, copper pipe soldering, and pool maintenance.
• Prior hotel or resort engineering supervisory experience.
